Do I need to call my specific clinic location to make an appointment?
Yes, our individual clinic numbers can be found on our contact page.
What are the office hours?
Our primary hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm.
What if I am late to my appointment?
We kindly ask you to call our office if you are running late. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule.
Is there a cancellation policy?
We request that you provide 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Will you send me a bill for my co-payment?
All co-payments are collected at the time of visit.
Office Visits
What should I bring to my first new patient visit?
Please bring your picture ID, insurance cards, co-pay, current medication list and/or medications, MRI and x-ray reports (if available).
What should I bring to my follow up visits?
Vanguard Interventional Pain Specialists asks that you please bring your co-pay and updated medication list to all follow up visits.
How much time should I expect to take filling out my new patient paperwork?
We ask that you please arrive 30 minutes prior to first visit to complete a new patient packet.
How early should I arrive prior to my scheduled appointment time?
VIPS patients are asked to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time if you are a new patient. For follow up visits, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.
Who will I see at my appointment?
At VIPS you will visit with one of our friendly and board certified providers.
Can I get my prescription refilled without an office visit?
Most medication refills require an office visit.
Procedures
How early should I arrive before my procedure?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled procedure time.
Can I eat or drink before my procedure?
Yes, if you are not having sedation during your procedure. If you are having sedation with your procedure you may have a light meal 6 hours prior to your procedure, and clear liquids only (must be able to see through) up until 2 hours prior to your procedure.
Do I continue taking my usual medications?
Yes, other than blood thinners, which you will need to discuss with your provider during your office visit prior to the injection.
What is the average procedure recovery time?
Recovery time varies based on the procedure. 5-10 minutes for basic procedures, up to 1 ½ hours for complex procedures can be expected.
Do I need someone to drive me to my procedure appointment?
This depends on the procedure. Please discuss this with your provider at the time of scheduling your procedure.
Why do I have to wait to get authorization for my procedure?
If you are waiting for authorization for your procedure, this is an insurance requirement. Some insurance carriers require us to authorize a procedure before we schedule your appointment.
Can I have an office visit and a procedure on the same day?
Not usually, due to need for pre-authorization with insurance companies and scheduling requirements. Our trained staff will do their best to accommodate your schedule accordingly.
